1200 wickets

Another career milestone has been achieved by the oracle of Maddington Cricket Club this past weekend.

Albert 'Alby' Plummer claimed his 1,200 wicket for the club against Armadale in 7th Grade over the weekend.

What makes this achievement so incredible, he has completed this feat in only 656 games at an average of 16.42.
Alby has also taken 40 five wicket hauls with a best bowling of 10/13 against Forrestdale Cricket Club. This feat was also followed up with an innings haul of 6/21 in the second dig giving him unprecedented figures for the game of 16/34.

Alby is not only a Life Member, but an inaugural inductee to the Legends Club of Maddington as well.

Congratulations Alby on a sensational milestone, and here's hoping for more wickets in the future.

1st December 2023
Milestone games

Two players reached Milestone games this weekend.

Congratulations to Dean North for playing his 350th game for Maddington. Deano has been a stalwart of the club since his debut in the 2002/03 season. He has achieved numerous honours, but none more so humbling than his induction to Club Life Membership in the season 2015/16.

Dean has been a regular contributor to the club both on and off field holding the position of Club Registrar for the past 12 years and being co-coach with Lace for the past 5+ years as well as staking a claim on the Selection Committee for more years than he cares to admit. However, it is his on-field contributions that help him stand out from the pack where his accolades stretch far and wide.

455 wickets @ 20.90, 6 5 wicket innings, with a best of 6/20 versus Kwinana; Ranks 9th all time in wicket taking 1,341 runs @ 7.75 with a best of 44 versus Roleystone.

Congratulations to Mitch Wilson for reaching 100 games.

Mitch has been a valuable contributor to Maddington Cricket Club. Starting out as a bowler who could bat, he transformed himself into a batter who can bowl. Unfortunately, his persistent back issues laid way to him giving away bowling to concentrate on his batting craft, turning himself into a valuable top order batter in our top side.

With contributions on the Club and Selection Committees Mitch has become a much-loved member of the club. On field, Mitch is accredited with the following:
982 runs @ 12.59, 2 50s, with a highest of 86 versus Perth Tamil
73 wickets @ 24.93 with a best of 4/31 versus Cockburn
